It was great seeing you & your GX at the Expo. We're definitely going to start working on ours this fall. Prob just tires, OMEs up front and the airbag trick to start. I'm very interested in your sliders though ;)

Thanks. The sliders are easy if you do not have KDSS. Most of the ones for the 4Runner will work. I got mine from Stubbs. If you do have KDSS, then it takes some welding time.

Here she is cleaned up after Expo. I also blacked out the grill.

Hard to believe she will be 10 years old next year(with 126,000 miles).

Waymon your rig did great running around the test track at the Overland Expo...in comfort and style no less.

It was fun to get it all crossaxled and see how much flex you have in that setup.

Thanks Lance. It was pretty cheesy doing the track, but still fun.

BonnerBB, I did not take any pictures. I should have.

TexGx could you please post the measurement on the rear with the Old Man Emu springs? Ground to fender. Did you use the 895 springs? I am looking at these for my GX and was curious how much lift you ended up with. Thanks.

I have 37 3/8 on one side and 37 5/8 on the other. Mine are installed upside down (I would switch if I could find one real reason too) and with a rubber coil piece from a Ford F250. I know this may not be that helpful, but should at least be a guide. I can not remember the number, but they are the medium for the Prado.

Did a nice upgrade to the truck this last week. The 04 GX did not come with Bluetooth. I was using a tape deck converter that I had to plug into the phone. I have gotten used to using my phone for calls and streaming music in my work car, so I decided that an upgrade was needed. So I found this:

http://www.gromaudio.com/store/usb_..._usb_ipod_adapter_direct_digital_interface.ht

It allows me to have Bluetooth on my truck and for the price, it seems well worth it so far. The only issue is that there is a slight echo for the caller. I am thinking there should be a way to wire the microphone from the kit to the microphone in the sunglass holder. I did loose the cd changer in the glove box, but all my music is on my phone, so it is not needed. It only took about 1/2 hour to install.

The Commando has a cradle that allows you to charge it with out having to plug something in. I made a custom mount for it so that now I just get into the truck, set the phone in cradle and start talking or streaming.

I had a GROM in mine until I swapped out the stereo. To get the echo down you have to wire it to the overhead. The wire that comes with the mic is long enough to go up the DS A-pillar and across under the headliner. Just make sure you go behind the airbag and don't mess with it too much. 2 bolts to remove the grip and you are good to go. My Alpine system was a needed upgrade for mine since all the speakers were blown and the head unit has everything, including the ipad mini charging USB port and BT for phone, streaming, etc.

Dan,

I currently have the mic near the rearview mirror. Are you saying it works better above the door? What do you mean by overhead?

I had mine on the overhead console (on the headliner) pinned beneath the overhead console basically right over the shifter.
