If anyone is intersted, there is a group from ExpeditionUtah doing start - finish Utah Traverse in early September. I'm not able to make it so I'm not 100% on their route but I beleive it is a mix between Sinuhe's route and dmc's Utah Cruiser Expedition Route that covered some of the same ground. CanuckMariner here on ExPo (and ExpUt) could fill in the details I'm sure.

That should be a great trip.

A section of the Traverse may have to be rerouted due to a proposed coal mine.

Coal Hollow? I'll be studying the updates. We're planning another Utah Traverse on ExpeditionUtah, a group did it this last year border to border but I wasn't able to make it.

On another note did you see the corner to corner trip we did? (4 Corners to 3 corners UT/ID/NV), I've been calling it the Utah Converse jokingly.

It is the Alton mine a strip mine in view of Bryce Canyon National Park and what used to be a section of the Utah Traverse. The route will now have to go farther south and be out of view of the southern cliffs of Bryce.

Read story here. http://www.nrdc.org/media/2010/101209.asp
