The Utilitarian-Camper 2nd Gen Tacoma

That would be the camper however I suppose I would consider offers on the bed and camper (I'd just have to figure out what do do when I get back next year)

Wow, I just found this thread yesterday, read through the whole thing only to find it for sale. I've wanted to do something simular for years, only out of fiberglass over foam, have several designs solid modeled even, but time is always the ennimy.

I'd love to tell you're smokin crack at that price, but compared to a new flippac, and knowing what it would cost to duplicate 7 grand seems reasonable. Selling witht the flat bed really seems to only practicle.option so the buyer doesn't have to come.up with one to fit. Course I'd also love to tell you that I have a blue pearl bed that would be perfect on your truck and I'll include it when I buy your flatbed and camper, but only half of that is true - my bed would match your truck. So tempted to run to the casino at lunch and try to win 7 grand ;)

I wish you luck in selling it, I hope the new owner finishes it off nicely (and posts about it here) and I hope whatever has pulles you away for a year brings great things into your life.

Too bad you have to abandon the project, looks a lot like some of the 'Ute' shells I saw down in the land of Oz. Beautiful work, best of luck on the next step.

Great build - love the blue, and the camper. Question about your wheels that may have been answered, but I can't find it.

What was your original wheel setup with the steelies - what size BFG's, and how was it balancing them? Love the pizza cutter look and functionality.
Do you have a lift and/or aftermarket springs/shocks?

I'm looking at putting my BJ42 steel splits on a Taco DC, but they're heavy, and aren't balanced for high-speed highway travel. I want to keep the utilitarian look of a foreign-market Hilux, using OEM parts. I'm running 285/75r16 BFG KOs on black splits, and not sure if that size will fit a Taco without a lift.

Thanks.
