I love the new design features. I did not notice anything on your CAD drawings for the new flatbed concerning the fuel filler neck. Have you figured that out yet? I know I have seen some rumblings on other threads about difficulties with changing the neck design and having issues with the filter/vents. I know you have done this before but wondered if you were going to attack it the same way or differently this time.

This is probably my biggest concern at the moment. My current filler as work great and location has not been an issue at all, however with the new flatbed being even lower I am approaching the limit. The gas filler is not shown in the cad because in order to keep costs down when having the parts laser cut the side rails (left and right) are the same file being bent in reverse (mirrored) This reduces the "programming" cost for the cutter and thus its less parts and cheaper. Really it will just be one of those "design on the fly" aspects of the project as there are just to many variables to deal with and not worth stressing over.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering. I have followed both of these builds and desperately want to replace my bed/topper combo with an aluminum flat bed. I love your design, it seems very difficult to find something similar especially for the DCSB. I like the ones from uteltd.com but the prices make them so cost prohibitive. I look forward to seeing this come together and love your design philosophy and direction.

Man I would love to jump on that opportunity. I am currently stationed in Italy and will not be back in the states with my truck until this next May.

Out of curiosity what are you asking for it? I would love to add a spare time mount up against the cab and some new removable crossbars so I could carry canoe/kayak/SUP or lumber. The possibilities are endless!!!!!!!

I hope the sale goes well!

Well its been slow progress. I have had the parts sitting in the garage now for awhile but just needed to get the time to go out and start putting things together. Here some quick shots of the first stages of assembly. I was very happy to bolt the mounts down to the chassis for the first time and see that everything lined up just perfectly (thank you Toyota frame specs)
I also realized that there is about a half inch of space between my old dual battery mount and the new bed so I will be able to reuse that as well.
