Thoughts: Gen 1 Tundra or new-ish F150?

I love my 2006 DC SR5 with 2008 Eagle Shell, ponied up for Rad Flo Suspension with ride rite air bags that were on it when I bought it as was the big Hellwig sway bar, 122k on the clock now and as second vehicle see myself keeping this for a long time. I am into it 30k for everything and think it was a bargin, always makes me smile to see it and drive it!

Hello,

My wife I had want something smaller than a full HD American truck. I have a '12 Tacoma, my wife a '19 Ranger; we've owned a full sized Ford. We are hoping to have something that is a bit easier to drive and maneuver than a fullsize, but bigger than a Tacoma. I am a huge Toyota fan and I'd love a Gen 1 Tundra, but I am having a hard time finding one that has lower miles/reasonable condition and no rust, which got me to think about the F150 in the 2014 - 2019 range. Our use case would be lightweight camper (OVRLAND or similar) 2 medium dogs, 2 adults. We plan to travel significantly up and down the west coast of the US, initially and plan to eventually see all of the US and perhaps beyond. Would be a mix of off and on road, no hard core trails.

I appreciate any thoughts.
Love my Tundra 03 with 305k on it..My Lowes and tow vehicle. If I were to build a flatbed camper it would almost be a wash in weight for a frp composite shell by removing the bed

Great looking truck. What's the weight of that camper? Tire size?

Hey thanks, camper is a shell model so it’s fairly light, from what I found on internet it’s around 600 pounds, loaded up for travel with arb fridge etc I am thinking around 950.
Tires are 285/70/17 BFG KO3’s
Truck wheels and drives great, did a 6 day trip in Death Valley last year and it performed beautifully with no issues.
