"Dry Cleaning" or any type of "Cleaning service" would probably fly under the radar parked anywhere and any time of day or night.

Where is the line between "Stealth Camping" and "Homeless guy with a truck"?:coffeedrink:

I spent 6 months this year living off of a motorcycle and totally agree that some of the camping rates are insane.

You knock the $50-$100k motorhomes but let's be honest, those are a MUCH nicer place to spend the night than in the back of a box truck as I see it presented here. What I would love to see is stuff that is stealthy but also set up to be "a nice place to live"

A "Commercial Vehicle" like a box truck also kinda limits you to areas where a commercial vehicle is easy to park and allowed.

saving my pennies for same. for me, the Tacoma has been my transition vehicle from 30 years of compact cars (Saabs, Passats). going "front to back" is a primary, but a van won't allow stand up. if i'm going to spend a rainy day in the back, i certainly don't want to be hunched over.

and i'm cutting a skylight, windows, & curbside door, too.

Funny thing, when I see nondescript cargo trucks driving around, I think "Motorcycle thieves". Can't help myself. Thankfully, I'm usually wrong.

Don't try to hide! They will find you! I guarantee it. I like a place in plain sight, just unnoticed. I like to park under a steet or parking lot lamp post so everyone can see me, but no one notices just another old work truck.

The more people around the better! Yes, it can be noisy at times, especially on a weekend or a holiday night. But, there is safety in numbers.

I like to park in some truck stops. Yes, the trucks are noisy. But they watch out for each other. I carry ear plugs or listen to music early in the evening, then crash. Usually, restaurant on sight, bathrooms 24 hours, showers at many. A few food or health supplies.

One of my all time favorite places are casino parking lots. Yes, they have RV parks there also, but I just park for free in the general parking area near the back. Usually food is reasonably priced. Open 24 years. Clean bathrooms. Many offer free beer and drinks if you just put a few bucks in a slot machine! 24 hour security at night. Big and well lit parking lots. They are all over the U.S. now. Great!

Check out cheaprvlivingforum.com when you have a minute. There really is some good info on that site. Quite a few full time vagabonds, van dwellers, box truck dwellers and a few skoolies.
Most of the skoolies hang out over at skoolie.net.

Like you have found out, tons of free "legal" places to park.
