St maxx coopers. A little less aggressive but lasted over 80k on my last set. With poor rotation habits on my part. This was on my jeep unlimited.

Toyo AT 2 is a fantastic tire. Maybe worth a look? I absolutely loved my Toyo MTs, but they might be a bit much for what you are after.

Last time I checked the Toyo AT II wasn't available in sizes as large as 37".

I have the Toyo MTs in 17 x 13.5 x 37, and really like them so far after a couple of thousand miles, I switched from Goodyear Wrangler radial military surplus MTs to the Toyo MTs & it's a world of difference. The Toyo MTs are very uniformly round, and the road noise and vibration from the Toyo MT is much closer to an AT, while retaining the off road aggressiveness of an MT. I also found that I only got ~ 10k miles out of a 90+ % tread set of Goodyear Wrangler radial military surplus MTs (on a lifted diesel Excursion, with a fair amount of off roading & used in a spirited manner on the street), as I think the tread is a bit soft. I can't speak to the life of the Toyo MTs yet, as I've only had mine for a few thousand miles, but most seem happy with their tread life.

The downsides of the Toyo MT vs. military surplus are:
- cost (~ $350/tire vs. ~ $100/tire for the military surplus tires)
- one-time cost to move to 17" rims
- sidewalls are softer than the military surplus tires, so I find I need to be run at near max psi rating to avoid squirm & maintain stability under hard braking at freeway speeds
- for your application, they are 13.5" width vs. 12.5" width

The upsides of the Toyo MT vs. military surplus are:
- very round, so easy to balance, and * WAY * quieter & less vibration
- no hassle trying to source military surplus tires & finding someone to mount & balance used military tires that are likely at least several years old
- 10 ply, E rated & 4,350 weight capacity in the 17 x 13.5 x 37 size

Just out of curiosity what did you not like about your BFG ATs?

I've got 35x12.5 ATs on my K5 but only 2" of lift. The only thing I want to change is to swap the blocks for a 2.5" shackle flip. I love these tires man.

I have the 16.5 inch version and they are E load rated. It killed my fuel economy a bit because they are heavy and regular unloaded inflation for my truck is about 35 psi. Other than that they are killer tires for any road or terrain.

Every set I've owned has separated. Two tires at highway speed, rather violently. And another from another set of them started bulging, caught that one before it let go.
