Titles for campers?

I'm in the market for a camper, a ATC or FWC. Do campers have titles like cars/trucks?

It depends on the state.

AZ does not, and I didn't have a title for my camper when I lived in CA back in the late 90's.

I don't recall having a title for my camper when I lived in CO either - of course, that was 20 years ago - so things may have changed.

No title in CO. And no plate/registration! No additional insurance (unless you want to). Those are some reasons I like truck campers so much! They're considered truck-bed cargo and are regulated as such. Oh--and no tires or wheel bearings!

I guess that there really isn't any proof of ownership other than a receipt from a dealer of previous owner.

Just get a bill of sale from the previous owner, if buying from a private seller.

I bought my pop-up camper used; prior owner was an Oregon resident. OR does title campers, so I have the signed-over title.

I live in Nevada, which does not title, register, license, or otherwise do anything with campers.

FWC provides a certificate upon purchase from them. As a previous poster wrote, in Colorado it's simply truckbed cargo and no state documentation is required.

I got a Calif. title for my Northstar at a one time fee of $35.00 back in 2000. The dealer recommended it after a customer touched bases with them. Northbound in Baja in Guerrero Negro the officials demanded a title for the camper. After much debate and a sizable mordita the Feds let them travel northbound.

Might of been a freak deal,but I still carry mine. Haven't had the pleasure of taking my rig that far south to experiment.
