Hey all,

I have a client that needs a TJ Unlimited in the San Diego area for the development of a roof rack system. You get to keep the rack - they will need the vehicle for a few days, probably over two sessions.

let me know by PM if interested.

I have a good friend in the merchant marines with a TJ unlimited. He lives in San Diego (while in port) and the jeep sits while he is out at sea. I have sent him a link to this thread...

I'm not in SD, but I have no plans to use the Jeep over the next two weeks. It's available. 2006 LJ Rubicon. Would look good in the photos with a rack on it :)

With or without Hardtop? I have both.

Folks, my wife declined the opportunity to have our LJ fitted out with a rack, so if there are others interested in helping out, please let Scott know. Because I know people will ask, my wife thinks putting anything overhead that obscures the sky defeats the purpose of having an open top Jeep. The primary reason she bought a Wrangler in the first place is to go toplesss.....

Hello Scott
I have a 05 TJ unlimited and am willing to discuss the specifics with your associate. The TJ could be immediately available.

Haha...Sorry, I'm trying desparitly to avoid the obvious comment of your wife preffering to go...uh, nevermind. LOL! That is one of those *D* if you do *D* of you don't kind of things though...The perks...ahem, of topless (phew, that was close..) are indeed a bit infringed on by a roof rack...even if it is a nice rack...!?! Ah...crud, couldn't resist...sorry...heehee.
But I suppose it depends on the amount of gear one schlepts around with them and how long they are on the trail/away from supplies?
Personally I prefer (ulp) the topless idea too. I have a Bantam trailer that can carry enough support gear and supplies to eleminate any top heavy (?) rack and if I'm heading towards rougher playgrounds I can unhook and leave it at camp while playing.
