Toyo OPEN COUNTRY A/T II

The 285-75-17 Toyo AT's have the extreme configuration. I saw a photo on one of the Dodge sites.
Regarding the lower load rating,I changed from 3900# rated Toyo AT's to their 3195# MT cousin in the same size. Weight rating is down, but I can say that @ 65psi,they are like rocks just like my AT's. I've got a front axle load of 4400#,rear 4000# and drive around with 55#. No sway, barely a bulge in the suckers. AT's next time as 10" of rain down here hardly constitute a MT.

I'd rather have the ATs over the MTs too. But my van weighs 10.5-11k so the higher load rating is a priority. I'll send Toyo an email and ask why they dropped the load rating on their New E rated AT2s. Seems odd to me.

Based partially on this thread (I can blame you guys) and other reviews I put a set of LT26570R17 ATII's on my 2011 FJ Thurs morning.... Original Dunflops had 50% tread left and were a sad joke at best

New tires =
1. 16/32 tread depth
2. 10 ply tread/2ply sidewall
3. best rim and tire combo took 1/2oz weight, worst took 2 3/4oz weight
4. quieter than the stock Dunflop AT20's
5. much, much better ride, smoother and more stable
6. stockers would follow every groove, bump and or ripple in the road and slide off every tar strip when raining requiring a lot of corrections at the wheel
7. took em to the snow and went down a steep snowy road that challenged the Dunflops the day before. AtII's came back up in 2wd w/traction control OFF where the stockers struggled in 4LO w/ATRAC turned on
8. took em on the highway, smooth as glass, stable and almost silent
9. surefooted, stable and smooth in town
10. a 55K tread wear warr on the LT's is a nice bonus too
11. chalk test showed 34psi to be about perfect, might go to 36 for road trips, rig weighs in at about 4,400lbs

Over-all I am very pleased with these tires and would recommend them to anyone in the AT market.

YMMV RON

Good to hear! Looking at these for my 2012. FJ. Thinking more towards 285's though.

I thought about 285's but with a 40 mile roundtrip commute every day that includes an 1800' elevation change the extra 1/2 inch of ground clearance wasn't worth the mileage drop....
The 265 ATII's are quite a bit bigger than the Dunflops anyway. I gained approx 3/8" clearance staying with the stock size.....

Had them in snow last weekend and they did fine on very hilly sections, even pulling my trailer. I was pretty nervous at first but 8000 pounds of truck and 2500 pounds of trailer got home without any problems.

Got a survey via email from Ram the other day too that was very timely. It centered around the OE tires on Rams and got pretty specific ---- even narrowed it down to the Power Wagon and the stock BFGs.

I remember going to the Auto Show here and seeing the Sportsmobiles equipped from the factory w/D-rated 50 psi BFG KO's. Not good.
They've sinced upgraded to e-rated tires.

First post here for you guys! Got my new Toyo brochures this morning from my rep and this is a much better outline of the sizes and sidewalls for Canada, USA may be different (likely more if anything) but this should help out with the sidewall confusion better than that slideshow.
