My frame is in very good shape. Very little rust. But I constantly keep it clean and the truck is undercoated.

Does your Tacoma have a case of the rusties?
I'm sure you are aware of this by now Pete, but it does sound like the Canadian Tacomas are included in this. Since I live in rust belt central, I've read and will be keeping an eye on this thread on TTORA: http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95993

I've got mixed thoughts on this matter especially since the truck is nearly "Expedition Ready" now. :costumed-smiley-007

- 1.5x it's KBB excellent condition value irregardless of the actual condition of your vehicle (i.e. if your rig is worth between $8000 and $10000 you get $10000 x 1.5 = $15 000).
- A free loaner assuming you have proper insurance coverage.
- Keep your aftermarket accesssories! Actually if they are ok with your driving the rig, you get to take it home and bring it back one week later. It must drive under it's own power by the sounds of things. More on this below.

The rusties.
I've been very meticulus about cleaning and coating my frame every year (outside). For the inside portion of it, it gets a good dousing of Rust Check yearly as well. I have not had it verified at toyota yet but do have some pictures showing it's condition from a year ago now...

My buddy called me yesterday about this. his 95 taco is flaking rust everywherre. It was an east coast truck for most of it's life. he is scheduled to take it in monday. I've got a 99 2wd 4 banger with the VIN range for the recall. Went and looked at my frame and mine is perfect. It's been undercoated everwhere. I might as well bring it in for the hell of it.

Clean bill of health!
Good news, I had the truck checked out at Toyota today and received a clean bill of health. They actually said it was one of the best kept frames they had seen for a 1999. I guess all the cleaning, re-coating and Rust Check paid off. I will be keeping an eye on it over time.
