Looks awesome! Can’t wait to visit your turf one of these days. I too wonder how people are brave enough to take these giant “off-road” trailers being sold these days. I’m chicken enough just driving some trails even without a trailer.

I love getting off the pavement but it makes me cringe seeing seeing folks pull thier heavy expensive rigs off of ledges or through 3 + feet of water at a river crossings. It is cool to go slow and crawl. Driving on freeway at speed seems to pound on the trailer more then off road when you go slow.

Let's me know if you make it here to Zion.

How are you doing with the repaired suspension and the new tow vehicle? Why did you change your tow vehicle anyway? It sounded like the van was perfect for your needs.

Trailer and suspension are all dialed in. Just replaced spindle and brake hub.

Van was also my daily driver and just to big of a vehicle. Unibody on such a long vehicle does not tow well. Had to replace the exhaust manifold at 75k miles.

So impressed with the Lexus gx 460. We have an adaptive car seat for Abi. Can drop trailer and have a very capable off road vehicle.

It's definitely a big leap in off road fun over the van. I'm glad to hear it works well for you daughter and has the payload/towing you need. Now get out there and have some fun! If you ever make it up to ID, here's the view from your camp spot:

Thanks. What a gorgeous spot. Heading down to the Tusher mnts this weekend then up to Driggs in a few weeks but not quite as far north as you guys are. Think your friends will be hosting at MacDowell this coming December?

We'll be through Driggs and Irwin at the end of September. We haven't explored that area between I15 and Rt 89 on the west/east and I70/Zion on the north/south. That will be on the list the next few years. Our friends are planning to be at MacDowell again. Make time on your way in or out of the bike race to stop by Quartzsite. By December we'll have a really good spot there. People won't believe it, but you can camp near Quartzsite all winter and not see another camper.

What, no photo hint? I'd say Moab except the "very few people part" rules out that area. If it's any spot in Utah with few people around, we'll want to know about it! It's too early for you to be near Driggs yet, but if you can see the Tetons, that's close enough.
