Still battling the sway issue, so the Hellwig went on today. Trip planned for the next few days so we will see what happens..

Also have some new presents to go on.. oh boy! Buddy picked the sliders up on his way back from Disney. Perfect.

The sliders, front and rear bumpers (still building the rear) will be raptor lined when I get around to it.. then installed.

There also may or may not be thuren springs and king 2.5’s on the way. Allegedly. Depending on who you ask.

Put a lot of miles on the wagon yesterday and today. Braved the interstate in the snow, and then spent the day on trails.

The Hellwig makes quite the difference on the highway. I didn’t get any sway (not quite as loaded as a long trip, but I usually will sway a little with just the smartcap and gear. Hopefully we found the solution.

Wagon did big pig wagon things on the trails. Fun.

Finally a snack and a sip at sunset, then down the hill for dinner.

Looks like you are having fun.
Nice rig! How did you make out getting the Hellwig rear sway bar on? I looked thru all your pics and it looks like the ‘18 has a resonator on the tailpipe? Did you have to cut it off?
I just put a BigWig bar on my 3500 and had to cut the resonator off and a weld a straight pipe back, also with the 6.4.
Thx
Keith

Grabbed some pics for you.. no issues with clearance there’s about an inch (maybe two depending on your measuring stick).

Hey thanks. I completely forgot that the PW had a stock rear swaybar and you could just reuse the frame attachment point.(and links??)

Over the past couple days the wagon spent more time in four wheel then two wheel. Fun trip. Hellwig performed great and even on really crappy and wavy paved roads, it wouldn’t sway.

How does the hellwig sway bar do with the front disconnected? I can imagine the onroad handling has improved, but what about offroad with the front having lots of articulation but the back having even less than stock?

Interesting

last month I rented a 2021 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L

I was seeing single digit mpgs, unloaded

Yesterday I fueled in Flagstaff, so mostly downhill from there doing 75mph ish. There was some city driving around Phoenix and errands. Truck is showing 15.2mpg. Hand calculated at 13.8.

The only time it consistently shows single digits is towing and on the trail in four wheel.

Definitely improved on road handling. I have the hellwig set on the softest setting. With the factory bar and geared up to go camping the truck would hit a sway at highway speed that caused the stability control to kick in several times. Not fun. New bar seems to have solved that.

Offroad you can tell a little bit of diminished articulation, but it never felt wonky playing on the rocks. I would be interested to throw it on a ramp and do the numbers to see the difference.

I did get it to teeter totter once playing on the banked side by side curves, but I think it would have regardless of the bar.

For my scenario the minor lack of articulation in the back is made up for by the better on road handling. I would equate the rear end to my 2014 2500 rear end articulation now, and that truck went anywhere you pointer it offroad.
