elmo

mine will be kept in the garage when im not using it. and it wont see much rain cause my kids dont like camping in the rain ahhaha:Wow1:

i dont have any un underside? the tent just is bolted to top bars of rack. the mounts that hold the rack/ pipe is electrical kendorf that you can buy from homedepot or lowes, it is made to hold electrical conduit pipe horizontally on ceilings, heavy duty and cheap, then just have poles bent, the poles that my tent is bolted to slides into a larger size poles on each corner which those are held by the kendorf and locking pins.

gasman,

Nice job on the lid. Similiar to what I have in mind. I was going to make mine open from the side. I also wanted the extra lip at the bottom, but was planning on putting it on the inside. Your idea might be better for keeping dust/water out.

yup..my way serengetti traiker tent improted by fernando at campming labs.yup 3 large bills..plus taxes plus shjppjng . plus U.S. /CDN exchange rate. and for me it was worth every penny.. fernando goes the distance !!

yes my lid is mounted on he end..with the tailgate cut in, i feel that it is much stronger that way.. as far as openong it up as you can see from the pics. once camp is set up if i need to get in there i can still get anything i need thru the tailgate quite easily .. some things you gotta strech for but it really is no problem at all

Ditto - that's an awesome lid!

The lid is basically the last thing (but is ever really a "finished" project) I need to do on my trailer build and I need to just suck it up and get it done. Been dragging my feet.

Really like the design of yours.
