TRD Pro

I agree it looked red in the initial photos, but in the motor trend photos it looks like a similar orange to a mid 1990s Mitsubishi Eclipse. Blech...

Seems like a lot of the photos are enhanced, hard to see what the color actually looks like. Guess I have to save judgement until I see one in person.

I like them. I like the colour. I like the Toyota on the grille. I like how the Tundra looks without all the chrome. I like the lift.

I hope GM offers something similar for the Canyon and Sierra.

I like these Pro series Toyotas. It isn't as hardcore as many would like but it is a step in the right direction. I've done a lot in my fairly stock Tacoma so these new versions are icing on the cake of proven platforms. I'm also sure the price point won't be justified. Sticking with what I have for the time being as it is paid off.

The TRDpro Tundra looks like an improved version of the TRD Offroad/Rock Warrior package from the last generation.
I'm curious if they addressed the front lift issues that we've found on the last Tundra: Blown steering racks(stock or lifted) and poor halfshaft angles. The latter fixed with a diff drop. I'm also interested in the Pro "skid plate" as the previous TRD plate was mostly a cosmetic piece that covered the factory lower engine cover.

My major gripe with my "Rock Warrior", was the lack of a proper LSD or Locker. Many claim the ATRAC is a great system. It is, if you're using it for run of the mill off road or inclement weather. I strongly disagree if we're using the TRDpro, off road, or Rock Warrior as the names would imply. They applied the same "electronic diff" tech on my 08 Lexus ISF (read 400hp sports saloon) and I hated it. Eventually, Lexus put a proper mechanical LSD from the factory as of 2010.

I found myself turning the ATRAC off as it defeats the momentum I need in certain conditions. And, as of last week, have installed a mechanical LSD in the rear... Exactly what I think the TRDpro should come with from the factory - much more than fancy stitching and floor mats.

Seems like a nice package to me. Decent turn key mild upgrade performance over stock. Not Earth shattering...still nice none-the-less.

Doe seems odd they didn't include the FJ tho'...

Doesn't seem odd at all seeing as the FJs been discontinued.

Glad I'm not the only one wondering why a locking rear diff isn't available in the Tundra, especially on an "off-road" package. Just doesn't make sense at all.
