Trek Belleville

Trek has introduced the Belleville, a city bike with the capability to travel. In a time before carbon fiber frames, people rode around the world on bikes equipped just like this. Add some panniers and go! (I think I'd change out the 3 speed hub for a modern close ratio internal gear hub.)

The shop I work at, has both the Mens and WSD Bellevilles They are cool! I do worry about some of the proprietary items. Sometimes customers have a hard time understanding 5 years down the road that we can't get that exact color matched rack, fenders, chainguard, etc.

But, I do really like it!

I've enjoyed the recent surge in bikes like the Belleville. I get a bit bored with the typical road, mtb, and 'cross offerings. Salsa, Felt, Civia, Trek, Specialized and even Kona have done some fun things outside the scope of high performance with these city/commuter type bikes.
