Yay, another Montrealer!!!

That's a lot of cool mods ... and the JK isn't a bad start either!

Whereabouts do you drive your rig? Any good spots in the area?:camping:

Thanks.

Check out the quebec4x4.com forums -- there's usually something going on every week-end.

Alright, so here's a small mod for this week -- A new Kicker 8" sub-woofer to replace the stocker. It made a bigger difference then I expected. There was a lot less bass "sound", but just as much (if not more) bass "feel". This allowed the other speakers to be heard better, generally making the music a little more "clear".

The new sub wasn't a drop-in replacement. I had to trim the plastic cover and cut some slots around the sub to screw in the cover. This isn't necessary if you don't want to keep the factory look, but since I have a dog riding in the back, the cover isn't really optional. :)

I used the plastic cover's screws to hold the sub in place while I screwed in the sub with 1" wood screws. This way I can remove the cover and the sub will remain in place.

And here's the finished look...

Clean speaker installation...nice. :)

I was going to upgrade mine as well, but with the Tuffy trunk back there, I figured there's not much of a point in doing so.

Busy day at the garage...

- Off-Road Only York Compressor Kit (compressor and engine mount only)
- Rock Hard Skid Plates (engine, t-case, gas tank)
- Poly Performance Tie-Rod and Drag Link
- Woods Steering Stabilizer Relocation Bracket
- JKS Mini Skids
- And fixed a loose muffler clamp...

Here's a picture of the skids. I'll have more pictures this week-end as we finish the compressor install and mount the Hannibal awning. My next trip to the garage will probably be in a few months for new rear & front axle shafts, drive shafts and 4.56 gears.

Hey, new guy here, but one quick question. Can we trade Father-in-laws? 'Cause mine blows and never wants to do cool stuff like yours does. Just PM me if it sounds like a sweet deal. Thanks!

p.s. Great job on the Jk man. I love a purpose built Jeep.

I drove down to Champlain NY last friday and picked up a bunch of boxes. A few of the interesting pieces are... 2-piece soft doors, AEV snorkel, CTM u-joint for the front axle shafts (yeah, I know, overkill on that one) :), and a replacement York compressor for the one that blew-up. I also picked up some wiring loom which allowed me to finally complete those rear work lights. I'm still waiting for a 4th Cibie Oscar for the front ones.

I also threw on a coat of flat black on the AEV pre-filter for the snorkel.

I should have the Hannibal awning installed laster this week. That'll be sweet. Should come in handy when training our dog in the field.

Hi JS,

Where did you find the soft doors in stock? Or had you been waiting for a long time. Pleas let me know your opinions on them once you have them installed. I have read that they dont seal at all, and I have read that they work great once they are adjusted properly.

I got them from Quadratec. I prefer buying from Northridge4x4, but Quadratec sells a lot of Bestop, so they get preferential treatment. :) Northridge4x4 should have them in stock in the following weeks.

The doors look great. I'll be putting them on only to hit the trails, and will go back to the regular doors the rest of the time. Yes, they have to be adjusted. I plan on doing one per day or so. I can see it taking a little time, but once adjusted, they should be good. They have decent seals all the way around.
