trooper trail shots

This is my favorite Isuzu. Independent 4x's RS. 35s and built very low. I would love to have a system like this on a 4 door.

I would venture to say that's the best SAS ever performed on an Isuzu. The attention to detail on that Trooper is simply amazing.

Scott, those are 285's if I'm not mistaken, correct? I think you eventually settled on 235s for the Trooper, do you remember how different the truck performed (mpg, power, etc ..) with the different sizes?

Ok, back on topic, let's see more pics. I am going to try to get out soon in my still bone stock 2002 ...

I ran 265/75s, 285/75s and 235/85s on the Trooper. My overall favorite combo was the 265/75 BFG ATs and the OME suspension. With some sliders and an ARB bumper with a winch, it would be the perfect low cost desert explorer.

Try to keep the weight off the roof. It is such a big truck that sleeping inside is the best option.

Oh, and I also ran a 256/70 R16 that were take-offs from my Tacoma.

The 235/85 Michelins and manual hubs yielded the best fuel economy, nearly 20mpg on the highway.

Not a Trooper, but cool!

Here is my 1990 Amigo. SAS dana 44 front. 5:38 gears, with ARB's in both ends. 3.2:1 low range. Custom bumpers and tube doors. Lots of other cool stuff. THis thing is bullet proof and has been the most reliable trail rig I have ever owned. A lot of trips to Moab, Rubicon, Colorado mostly driven to and from trails. Occasionally flat towed but never trailered. The little 2.6 4 banger just keeps on pushing along. Im sure a couple of folks (Bigswede) may recognize it. Cheers all! Fernando
