Truck guns?

In order to celebrate the abolishing of the long gun registry here in Alberta, I headed out to buy one of these Henry Mare's Legs. They are available in .22LR and .45Colt. and seem to be a pretty handy truck gun. They are unrestricted here and are a bit cheaper too since they don't have the $200 tax that they do south of the border where I understand they are classified as a handgun. Like the short 870s it is another anomaly where might just have a little more freedom.

My first hunting rifle, inherited from my grandfather.
.... and a little refreshment. New stock, elimination of clearances, oxidation, and a little pampering.:coffee:

Wow. That's really nice Peter. I have spent the last couple of days looking over some guns, and trying to find info on them, that were my Grandfathers. He died several years ago and my Mother had them put away. She died back in May and my Step Father pulled them out and gave them to me this week. I didn't know she had them so it was a surprise.

Just put my Ruger 10/22 Takedown in jail for ten days. Cool little plinker. Just have to figure out which scope will go best in the storage pack it comes with.

I have a bushnell banner 3-9x40 on my ruger 1022 its nice for the price. However I dont know what kind of room you have inside the case I know there are quick detatch scope mounts but for some reason I dont trust them. I would prefer to have a scope perm. mounted. If you dont have much room and prefer perm mount scope, A friend of mine has a bushnell elite tactical 1-6.5x24 on his and I really like shooting his gun with it.

I just got one too, they're cool little guns. I went with the same scope as this guy uses. The Leupold 1.5 to 5 power VX-III works awesome for me.

That Ruger looks like a nice little gun. I have an older regular 10-22 that I put a folding stock on years ago to basically do what they are doing with that. I've got a bag for an AR that fits it nicely and can carry several extra magazines, cleaning kit, boxes of ammo, and earplugs and safety glasses in the pockets. I still like that new one though.

I inherited a couple of guns that have been seeing some time in my truck lately. My grandfather died several years ago and my Mom put some of his guns away. She passed away last May and my Step Father gave me the guns after I talked to my brother and he said that he didn't want any of them. I've got a Winchester '94 30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine and a Winchester '94 .32 Special. I shot the 30-30 a few days ago. Sweet gun. Didn't get to shoot the .32 Special as the weather turned nasty and went from the 70's to the 40's and snowed the last couple of days.

Yeah they are a bit on the high side. I got mine for $360 but, you can't beat the quality. This is the last .22 scope I'll ever need. If I ever get an AR in .22 I'll be able to through the scope on the AR too. The scope has a Q/D base on it. The Q/D base makes it easy to pack up too.
