i'll get the subframe mounted this weekend and get another round of pictures uploaded.

the transmission cooler is stock, i just created the new mounting brackets and relocated it.

Now I can see them. I must have had my truck porn filter on or something.

how many inches did you allow for camper subframe to stay above everything that sits taller than the truck's chassis (tranny mostly)? Do you think your hight above that is tight/Conservative...... or a little overkill. Thanks in advance

i allowed for an inch and a half above the tranny. 10.5 above the frame rails.

YIKES...10.5" that is a lot. Am hoping to get my cabin to sit lot closer to top of chassis than that to keep overall truck hieght as low as possible. Not sure I can do it but Im goin to try. Thinking of a form of captured spring setup.

its totally a 450X

The original intent was to have a hydraulically powered bike lift on the back. since beginning our build, we've decided to go a different direction and turn this into a business. so, selling trucky to further advance in our goal. of course subsequent models will evolve and different methods might be used.
this is an all off road bike for me, both my brother and my brother inlaw have 450x's and are both plated...

this bike has never left me stranded and has been put to the test a number of times. in October 2015 i used it to win the 25 hrs of starvation ridge ironman class. two oil changes, two flat tires, inumerable number of starts, wipeouts and so much mud. . want some bike advice? buy a Honda, maintain it like its your baby and ride it everywhere!

I think you'll be looking at wheel well cutouts too, the tires are 46.5" and the frame is at 48" off the ground. the strait axles have stoppers at 8" of flex to either side. that point is roughly 7" inside the outside of the frame rails. meaning that if your right side finds a hole and the left is on a boulder, without proper clearance youer tire may put a very expensive hole into your new gelcoat fiberglass panels. i provided adequate room for the habitation box so that the terrain this thing can go on isn't restricted by anything but height ...perhaps future time will yield a lifting roof?? although these trucks don't have quite as much flex as a unimog, using composite panels with a caged spring/ frame on frame design might not be the best option. alternatively, reduce the amount of rooftop additions like AC and fan which can easily add 7 inches over solar.

northwest overland rally

In just one week, I'll be bringing the truck to the Northwest Overland Rally from June 15th-18th in Plain, WA. and the following weekend at Sasquatch mountain resort just outside of Vancouver BC at the BC overland Rally. we will be sharing space with the total composites booth, the truck will be on display for questions, viewing and even demonstration in the offered challenge course. please stop by and chat! If you're interested in a ready to mount FMTV chassis, the truck will be for sale. in a few short weeks, our habitation box will arrive. if we still have the truck, it will be installed with outbound window entry door, windows and hatches.

4 point subframe in action

reading this again, i really that my previous response may have been deceiving. the top of the subframe is at 10.5" above the frame leaving 1.5" between the tranny and the composite panels.

How high does Tranny sit above truck Chassis? I knew it protruded..... but didnt know it was that much..... Think I'd rather put a bump in the floor and keep roof line lower but that is just me. THANKS for putting your information up. So helpful.
