Tundra 1st Gen Sleeping Platform –Slow Build-

Well a few weekends ago the wife and kid were out of town and heavy rains screwed up my weekend camping plans, so I decided to start working on a sleeping platform for my 2000 Tundra.
Here is what I got done by the end of the weekend:

Finished the side boxes

I wasn't able to commit any real time to finishing the sleeping platform, but over the last few weeks I was able to slip in a few hours of work , and I finally finished the side boxes.

Next step will be the drawers. I originally planed on using some wood style drawer sliders but, now I'm considering using some heavy duty ball-bearing sliders.

Try the wood slides first.... I think you will be happy if most of the weight stays on the tailgate when they are out.

Thanks Jay, I took you’re advice and went with the wood drawer slides. They seem to work fine and you were right, most of the drawer weight sits on the tailgate.

Here are some shots of what I managed to get done on Sunday. The drawers are functional but, I still need to put the drawer faces on. Next on the agenda is lighting.
