My 02 Tundra enjoying spring break. I should start a build thread one of these days because it wears a custom totally re-built FWC during the summer.
Sweet ride, Eview!
LOVE the Satoshi grille...thats just about exactly how I've been wanting to do mine ever since I got my '00. I've only seen a couple that way, so its nice to see some pics, and from the correct angles, on what it'll look like. What Toyota emblem did you use?
Just out of curiosity, ave you measured your lift, from center of wheel hubs to bottom lip of flare? I'm running 885s on 5100s on 2nd notch.
What size tires? those look a little skinny to be the popular 285's every one seems to run.
The pics with the camper are from last fall, I hit a deer last summer and toasted the stock front bumper That is what made me decide to build a custom bumper. I have an old 79 Toyota that I have been practicing my fabrication and wrenching skills on for the past couple years and felt confident I could make a nice bumper for the tundra. I'll hopefully add some round tubing to protect the grill and headlights this summer. Tires and suspension are the same in all the pics above, only thing I changed was the wheels and front bumper.
I purchased my Tundra in the spring of 2010 with 120k miles totally stock. This is what I have done on the outside...
5100s up front set at 2nd notch down with stock TRD coils (hope to change out to OME 885 soon and keep about the same height)
5100s in the back with Toytech AAL (would like to replace springs all together, wish OME made them for this truck, maybe will go with Alcan since they are CO based)
Wheels are Pro Comp 7069-6883 16x8 with 4" backspace (I like the slightly wider stance)
Tires are 265/75 Nitto Terra Grapplers
Bumper and topper rack are fabricated by me.

You guys might want to also look at the 884s. The 884s are a replacement stock length spring. The 885s add about 2" lift by themselves. If you are going 5100s, you can get 2.5" off them by themselves. You dont want to go any higher than 2.5" total, and no more than 3" with aftermarket UCAs. I dont remember what stock spring rates are, but the 884/885s are both 590lb.
I chose 885s, because I knew I wanted to push 3" and go with Total Chaos or Camburg UCAs, and wasnt sure at the time whether I could even get a full 2.5" out of the 5100s alone. So I have 5100s set, IIRC, 2nd notch (.65") from the bottom, with the 885s on top, and I'm sitting around 2 3/4" total. I havent driven the truck since I installed them, so I cant say how the ride feels, or how much they will settle. If they dont settle, I will go one more notch up on the 5100s (1.35")...If they DO settle, I may even go up two notches.

But again, if you're not going past 2.5" and NOT installing new UCAs, and NOT ever gonna install a heavy bumper or winch, then the 884s might be what you guys want.
I would want to keep it at around 2.5" and not planning on a bumper or winch. But my thought on going with the 885's was to keep them at the bottom position of the 5100's for a better ride rather than having them up a notch or two and compressed somewhat. Let me know how those 885's ride in your truck I'm very curious as to how they compare to stock.
Did a little work on my truck on my days off. Replaced the outter tie rod ends and lower balljoints. As well replaced my Icon's with my 5100's and OME 885 springs. Love the ride so much more and suits my needs more than the Icons. Also replaced my Cooper STMaxx tires with Mickey Thompson MTZ with the same size 265/75/16. I'll try and get more photo's once the rain stops which might be some time next week! Big storms coming finally! Here is some pics.....
Old tie rod end being removed
Got the same brand for my lower balljoints. All bought from RockAuto!
New vs. Old
New vs. Old
This tool saved my butt. To all Tundra owners who plan on replacing their LBJ get this pitman Puller tool. It fits perfect to pop the LBJ out.
New and old
With the 885 springs and setting the 5100's on the second notch from the bottom, it netted me around 3 inches of lift. I love the way it sits and rides, I highly recommend 5100's and OME for 1st Gen Tundra's!
