Can't remember if I posted in here or not, but here is a pretty up to date picture of my 2001. Recently finished making the bedrack and cover.

Okay, it's not a tundra, but it's a cousin....maybe even a sibling....and my tundra doesn't fit all of us as comfortably.

Anyone else notice how flooded the forum seems to be with 1 gen Tundra builds right now?

:victory:

Yes. I'm a recent member myself after having to put the T-100 down. It is a great platform and you can buy a decent base truck to build on for about $15K or less. They are a superb synergy of space, power and capability.

That- with 05-06 Double cabs usually costing less than an equivalent Tacoma, it makes it a serious alternative, unless the smaller size is an absolute must-have. Still, I'd hardly call it a flood- end of a drought- maybe.

Ya they're a very capable platform and the price is coming down, I follow alot of smaller vehicles around and i always use the extra space... and you cant beat a v8!

Here's mine again in the mountains. I really want to get something with more tow capability. But, I can't seem to part with this rig just yet...

Thanks. I dont have any more pictures since I put the bumper on. I like the ARB so far, though it does stick out a bit far which looks a bit odd without a winch.

A little test ride today. You know I am impressed every time I take the tundra out vs. my jeep. It just idles over everything.

This is my 04 that I picked up a few months ago. Base model SR5 4wd. Only has 120k on it and I picked it up for $11G. Figure that was a pretty decent price after a few months of looking. It spent a few years in Maine and Massachusetts, but it doesn't have much rust. Came with the camper shell and some hard wired LED back up lights that are super bright. I replaced the uuuuugly factory steel wheels with some alloys off craigslist. Also removed the grandpa style lighted running boards. Loving it so far!

I came from an 00 Land Cruiser that I regret selling. I traded it for a new F150 which was a huge mistake. Ended up trading the Ford back in on this Tundra for 1k less than I paid for it after 15000 miles, so at least it held it's value.

Plans are adding tracks and a yakima rack to the shell and some more aggressive tires. When I do tires I'll probably put Bilsteins in front and go up to 255s. I think I could do 235s without rubbing or any lift, but they might be too narrow. The truck has Rancho 5000 shocks and they seem to ride pretty well for now.image.jpg

Here's mine from the summer. It's a '13 SR5 5.7 double cab w/ leer 100xr cap, Bilstein 5100's @ 2.5 and coachbuilder shackles in the rear, and katzkin leather interior. One of these days I'm gonna hook my CB up in it. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

It'll be a slow build. We're expecting our first child in 6 weeks and we also just bought my wife an '06 T4R so there are other priorities lately :)

I've done some minor cosmetic mods recently. Blacked out the headlights and plasti-derped the badges. Next cosmetic mod is getting rid of the rest of the chrome.

My pregnant wife :)

I opted for an aftermarket navigation package

Good thing we brought the Tundra along. We ended up having to tow my buddy's FJ back home because it died in the middle of the trail on our way back home.
