TwoTrack's 05 Tundra

Buy Once, Cry Once
It's been a while since I've updated this. I honestly haven't done much. When I bought the truck the CD player didn't work, so I swapped in a Pioneer HU. I really don't like all the chrome on the front of the truck so I bought some color matched paint. I ended up not buying enough and was only able to spray the side view mirror covers. I think it turned out nice, I have more paint on order to finish the 3 strips on the grill. I replaced all the ball joints and removed the sway bar over the weekend as well. I don't notice a difference on the road and the front end is much quieter now. I have steering rack bushings and tie rod bellows waiting to be put on. Both my bellows are ripped so I need to get to that asap. We have a trip to a beach house in North Carolina planned for mid March so I've been trying to sort out my storage plans. I'm trying to prevent putting a topper on but it might be my only choice for our dogs, we'll see.

Less talking, more pictures.

I keep going back and forth with the idea of adding some wheel spacers. On one hand I like that fact that it's stock and maintains the KISS principle, on the other hand I think it would really improve the stance/appearance.

Amazing truck sir! I am considering this lift for my 2006 Tundra DC and was wondering if you could take some pictures from the side as I will be stuck with 265x75 tires for a little bit!

Thank you! After our North Carolina trip in March we're planning to go to the Ozarks sometime in June-ish. This will primarily be a wheeling/exploring trip and I'm thinking I will need to add some armor. Sliders at minimum. I've been searching for some bolt on's with no luck and I'm currently leaning towards the All Pro sliders. I've also been toying with the idea of tucking a winch in the stock bumper. And for the rear I need to convince Seanpistol that it's a good idea to build a 2nd bumper and ship it to me. :)

My truck has spacers- if you want to see the tires stick slightly outside the flares there should be a couple photos in my build thread.

White Knuckle Offroad makes bolt on sliders, but they aint cheap!

I'll be working with a fabricator this year to come out with another bolt on options for our trucks, but specific timing is unknown at this point.

They are pricey. I've thought about getting the AP sliders and changing up the mount to make the bolt on. I'm not sure how much work would be involved.

Thanks! It's not a Tundra specific setup, it's actually for Tacoma's. Slee and Toytec both offer it as a "kit" for Tundra's though.

Just read you thread for the first time. I dunno if your suspension work has helped with heavy loads in your bed (assuming one day you want to load your truck with cargo), but I just put Firestone air bags on my 2010 trundra and it is the favorite thing ive done to the truck. I also recently added a front trailer hitch receiver and am waiting for a Budbulit motor and tranny skid plate to be delivered. The skid plate has holes cut in it so you do not have remove the skid plate for oil changes. Have fun!

Really. Not sure if that was the intention or not, might be worth a call to find out.

I sent them an email, will report back with response. Fingers crossed!

For now the rear suspension has worked well for me. The cons are rough ride when unloaded and less articulation off-road, towing has been great though. I'm following Rickashay's leafspring thread, but in the end I'll probably need a custom pack with air bags for the load.

*I honestly like the Hellwig load assist springs. They are dead simple and extremely effective. They're adjustable as well, so if I really needed more flex off-road I could loosen them up.
