On avg how much does it cost to rhino line the van? What's the advantage to doing that on the exterior vs traditional paint?
In reality bedlining a whole vehicle, no matter what version of bedliner you use, is for people that don't know how to paint or don't want to spend the money for a proper paint job.
Rhino Liner is heavy, and last I knew it would be ridiculously expensive to do an entire vehicle. Same with Line-X. Local shop wanted $1,400 just to do the lower door/rockers of my 4-door.
I did my entire van with Raptor Liner, because I wanted to do it myself, it was relatively inexpensive, and I suck at body work/painting, but it is not the optimal way to go about things. If I ever want a regular paint job back on this thing the sanding is going to be brutal. Plus side is the Raptor uses automotive pigments for color and it's UV stable. It probably doesn't add a ton of weight because I believe the bulk of it is flashing off during the curing process.
Really do some thinking before you go the bed Liner route. It's a perfectly fine way to go if that's what you want, but it isn't without its drawbacks.

I like the look of it, the DIY as it is more forgiving than paint. For around $700 I did the whole van rolling Monstaliner. I've seen lineX and it is a lot nicer, but also $$$$.
As far as weight, I do not think it is an issue. I used three gallons, that's about 25 - 30 lbs before curing. You will not be applying the same thickness as you would on a truck's bed.
