I've been getting a lot of questions about the Transit so here's the plan for it as of now.... I've decided to get into the van rental business. Have been working on the idea and our approach for a few months, got everything lined up to purchase the van and have a gameplan to make it happen! So, this van will be getting the VanCompass 2.5" lift, tires, full roof rack, RTT, awning, solar, fixed bed and a basic galley box inside along with coin flooring. The van will be setup for a family of 4-5 that wants to camp at some of our local campgrounds but we'll offer a "primitive" upgrade if they want goodies to help them get further out.

Asheville is a major tourist destination so fingers are crossed that some visitors will want to head out and camp instead of a boring hotel. Wish us luck, give the Facebook page a like, Instagram coming soon. Official launch will be at the AVL Van Life Rally on 9-28. Between now and then we have to get the rig built, do some photo shoots and videos, fun fun fun! I'm excited.

myself and @ohpyramids will be heading to asheville for Overland Expo West, whats this van life rally? how long, formal thing? tried to search, couldn't find anything.

ETA: found it, one night deal, might be cutting it close with OXE booth stuff, but might be able to check it out.

Its the night before Expo starts. Last year a few people that were headed to Expo came by. Great group of people, we had a blast. We won't be at expo, may head out to the woods for the weekend.

Lol! Yeah OE gets totally swamped with people, can't blame ya there.

We have a vendor spot at OE and are planning to sell our Fold-A-Flame grill/firepits at the Van Life Rally as well! Stoked to finally meet you and the team.

Yeah! We are truckin about 1200lbs of Fold-A-Flames from socal to NC in our two camper vans. We had a great time at Overland West and needed an excuse for a roadtrip ;)

Anyone have a torque spec for the 5R110 tail housing to transmission? and also for the transfer case to tail housing?


Working my way from the rear forward so I can get the driveshaft measured up and have my guy start making it... Those monster rear leaf springs kicked my butt, fought me the whole way in..but thats one fight I did eventually win :violent-smiley-031:

How many vans do you plan on having? All transits? Based out of your current shop location?

We'd like to see the build out on the rentals.
