Mmmmm I love new machines! To speed us up and decrease our reliance on outside vendors/suppliers I decided to pull the trigger on these tire machines. Road force balancing will be a nice addition too. No more waiting/calling/wasting time!
A shop called California wheels, here in San Jose CA, has an awesome attachment for their road force balancer. They had a problem with it keeping calibrated, because the thing is very sensitive to bumps and bangs on the spindle. And giant tire and wheel combos are not exactly lightweight. So the attachment allows you to roll the wheel onto a small lift, and you hoist it up to the spindle height. The thing then allows you to slide it into place using a drawer slide type mechanism, so there's never any banging or bumping to knock the cal out of spec.
I'll try to get a picture next weekend. I thought it was a great idea, and they think it's worth its weight in gold.
2 more arrivals this week, we've never had so many vans here! I've been hearing since 12/13 that business would be disappearing since the E series is going out of production. We'll evolve when we have to but as long as they keep coming we'll keep building.
Red V10 is going thru a massive transformation. Color change, 6" on 35s, all the bells & whistles.
The 7.3 Ambo came to us all the way from San Diego for a turn key swap, we have a lot of work to do!
Color change? That is the best red Ford has ever offered, why would they want to change it?
Hey Chris! What fluids to you use for the differentials and transfer case? Have some of these rock crawling guys around me pimping adding friction modifiers even to synthetic fluids, so curious what you find works best in your builds...
