What have you all done to protect the transfer box that hangs underneath your Trooper? What about the oil sender/oil filter unit up front? Got any pics of custom made armor for your Trooper you can share? After running w/ some friends recently, I've found that a lot of potentially vulnerable spots underneath my Trooper I'd like to protect.

First on my list,
oil pan
oil sender/oil filter unit
protect my transfer gear box

its the lack of aftermarket support that drives people into Jeeps. I too would like some protection for the troop.

or to fab their own. What's what many do... at least among mitsu owners who have actually committed to wheeling one.:smiley_drive:

I guess us 1st gen trooper owners a a little lucky in that aspect. Everything is covered by a skid plate or tucked up between the frames on mine. I wonder how different the frames are and if one could "tweak" one to make it work..

skids

I'm in the same situation. I bent my skid into the front driveshaft and suffered the steady thump of the yolk hitting the skid. I am in the process of getting some more factory skidplates and either reinforcing them or having a friend build me some new thicker ones on his cad machine. I may even incorporate some polyurethane on the bottom. ill try to post some pics once they come to fruition.
