Unimog 404 camper bus tdi diesel conversion

Hi folks,
The start of this thread is at the unimog Mercedes forum.
Looking at others people builds there it seems that I do not fit in there very well so going to give it a shot here after seeing some other unconventional builds.

In short sofar.

The chassis is an unimog 404 without motor. We put an Volkswagen ahu tdi motor in it.
Then a modified unimog swivel so that the cab and the habitat are hard connected.
This all to create a more efficient use of space.

Impressive. Which VW motor? Does transmission have low speed gears?
What axle/portal net ratio and top gear ratio vs what size tires?

Hi Charlie, it is the first vw 1.9 tdi ahu motor.
This engine has a steel oil pan and oil pump in the back. Also the computer does not need an immobilizer.. it is mated to the original 6 SPD transmission to the unimog 404.
Original portal ratio, not sure what that is. Tire size is one size up to get to 60mph at a slightly lower rpm.

Good eye, 5 kw , mep802. Still needs some work, but not used in this build.
