Update on the new Mini FJ…coming to the USA soon?

If you see the new mini Land Cruiser, potentially called FJ displayed at the LA Auto Show this year, that would be a good indication that Toyota is bringing this sweet looking little ride to North America.

Being able to buy this in the US isn’t yet a slam dunk. We’re only being teased that it may reach our shores. Specific reveal dates for us haven’t been disclosed but still, perhaps we will see it here especially since it and the Land Cruiser SE were teased together last year.

(Looks like it’s designed to go after potential Baby Bronco buyers)

With Toyota quality being vastly better than Ford’s, it would be pretty easy to choose a mini FJ over the BB.

So stay tuned to see if we’re going to get these here…

Why are they calling it a "G class rival", it's nothing of the sort, what am I missing?

If it is based on the LC then it's going to be the size of the BB with the drivetrain of a much heavier duty platform....

Kinda prefer the early 2000's FJ Cruiser. But with this being smaller and EV, I can see the newer design language here. It's not terrible. Looks more rugged than the mini Bronco. Speaking of which, I wanna know when Ford will get its head out of its buttt and make a Bronco XLT based on the F150, please.

Wish Toyota would bring back the FJ cruiser but in Hybrid. That'd be a win in my book.

I think they’re referring to the “baby G” linked in the article. Doesn’t really give any details, but they’re not referencing the G wagen.

This will compete with the Bronco Sport.
Does this mean it’ll be based on the RAV4 chassis? If it even makes it into production.

That would be interesting. But, around here a 2 door mid level Bronco is 65K. Most are in the 75- 85K range. So, then a F150 Bronco would be what, 100K?

Pass.

I really want a 2 door Bronco but I'm having a hard time justifying the prices when similar equipped Wranglers are 10K or more cheaper...

There's Rubicons selling for the same price as base model Broncos.

Not sure how soon you need your new vehicle but if you wait until their "family pricing" event you can save quite a lot bringing it closer to or even less than the Jeep. We got a great deal on an F150 last year (though "great deal" in today's market prices is still ridiculously obscene for what a new vehicle costs nowadays). We checked out the Bronco's while shopping for our truck and they are very, very cool :)

Undetermined at this point. But, I was looking at a new 2 door Badlands w/ V6 (Non Sasquatch). MSRP is 71K marked down to 62K.

But, then I see new Rubicon 2 doors with more equipment for 58K. Shouldn't a Rubicon and Sasquatch be pretty close in price? If I added Sasquatch to that Bronco the 'on sale' price would be 70K... That's nuts.

Both below are V6, Auto, Heated seats & steering wheel, remote start.... Which is basically all I'd want.

I don't know if I see the Bronco being worth an extra 10K.
