I'd also suggest that the powers that be might wish to add a GreatLakes chapter to the regional chapter section, as we aren't exactly a proper fit with the central or northeast regions...

Yes, a GreatLakes chapter is an excellent request.

After seeing the great pictures. I'm sorry I missed this trip. I have only seen these trail in the Winter when there is a foot of snow. I would definitely be interested in the next one.

I would have liked to have seen a FJC in action too! There weren't any present. The only thing I saw was a FJC hat (cool one though!).

When the Great Lakes chapter statrs up I will be probably hounding for members for Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Assc. that I belong to. Our big thing is to fight to keep trails open/land issues and could use some more members. www.glfwda.org

I may be doing an article about our trip for the Boondocker, the excellent, award-winning publication for members of GLFWDA.

Well, let's camp the first night in Gay, on Da Beach.

Our Big Gay Adventure.

With a covert ops name online to avoid attention... :REExeSwimmingHL:

JK. In all seriousness, since this thread could be dug up for planning next year maybe we could post "ideas or thoughts" while they are fresh in mind.

Only recommendation on my end is to run a week sooner to avoid the college traffic. I truly am glad we had (save for a radiator) nothing bad happen to anyone, even with how busy it was that weekend.

[I mean, the traffic on those trails!!! JK]

Honestly....a day or two longer would be awesome!!!!!Just to be able to see much more.I would have liked to do the copper mine tour and such......but with the size of the group I understand on how it could not be done.Jo & I are already planning to go back up the beginning of Oct to see the mine and the fall colors if anyone wants to join us.
We could have not asked for a better group(or guides for that matter)on this trip....I do not even think I met everyone on the trip(I apologize for that). Also I would be willing to pitch in for stickers or shirts with the event logo(as long as Inaugural Event or 1st Annual is added to the logo....hint).

Great pics!!!Your first one became my desktop....I am thinkin I may need to change my SN to "The Clampett's" though(that also came up out on the trail too)

Ha ha, I actually heard that Clampetts comment and cracked up pretty good. It was fitting!

HUGE THANKS!!!!! To Kristian and Jason for an amazing trip! and historic sail!
We are already planning on coming back next year with the kids.
We made it as far as the 'porkies' Sun. night, just couldn't bring ourselves to leave such an incredible area.
Then high-tailed it home on Mon. just in time for rush hour, ewww!
Loved seeing all the photo's, we'll go through ours soon.
And the 'gay beach recovery' in the end it was 'T-Maxx' that diserves the badge of honor.
Hope a recore was a quick process, and the only casualty for Ron's truck.
Such a great group of people, loved meeting everyone, so much left unsaid and done.
The only thing I regreat not doing was having a moment of silence for 'Tickleman'
, so please take a moment now.

Hope to stay in touch, and anticipating next year already!!!
Pad & Beth (and Lil-Boy)

Pad, on the drive home I remembered about Tickleman, thanks for making a point to post that here.
