Well this weekend we started painting. It did not go as well as we had hoped as we had a big temp drop and had some runs but did not come out too bad. I just have a little more color sanding and buffing to do. We decided to paint the top 1st and masked off the body seam of the roof. This is so we did not have to lean over wet paint as much while spraying the roof. I am going to pick up some faster reducer (for lower temps) before we do the sides.
The good news is the color is very forgiving.
Hopefully work stops getting in the way and we finish this part of the project up pretty soon.

Enjoy the pics from the weekend.

Long time no post! Finally got the thing painted. I have decided to repaint the hood as it should have come out better but it is at least painted. The color is unique and I like the look. It should look really good with the black roof rack and front bumper.
Started ordering rubber and also new carpet in anticipation of the next step in the process.

The paint looks great and the body looks real straight, what color is that and when do we get a picture of it outside.

Thanks guys.

Hopefully next week it will see the light of day (or at least get it back on the trailer and back home. My work schedule right now is killing me so not as much time to spend with it as i would like but I have to make money while I can!

Color is 1989 GM WA-9201. Medium Mesa Brown.

Finally back and in color! Now the fun and money spending begin. I Ordered new carpet kit and also headliner material along with a ton of weatherstrip. In the mean time I am going to be doing a little color sanding and buffing on a few dirt particles and some of the orange peel that is easily seen. I really like the color the way and the way it turned out. Can’t wait to get it back out on the road!
I will try and get some pics of it going together over the next month or so.

looking good. I think that shade of paint looks better than they did back in the day. GM's version was a little more yellow, unless it's just the lighting.

Well guys the going is slow. After color sanding and doing some buffing I am waiting for a bunch of parts that are on order. I did get the rear weather-stripping on the doors and door handles in. Also I starting working on the front doors. I had to spend some quality time with the doors and aligning them with the latches in to make everything try and seal up nice and work properly. I probably spent a full day with the rear barn doors! (what a pain they are).
Anyway just wanted to give an update and let you all know it is still in progress. I hope to have more progress to report soon.
