VANdiana Jones sequel: The Legacy Continues

Yeah, I saw that. Going to stick with the track I have, and use that for the seats. Looked into the flush mount with a flange, but it won't sit flush, my flooring is 3/8, not 5/8, and the distance from the bottom of the L-track to the flange is 1/2. So it would stick up anyway. Lesson learned, think 3x ahead before buying flooring as well..haha. It will suit me well for my uses. Anyhoo...back to your build Jeremy. Thanks for all the info!

Anytime, it was good info to have here.
My build isn't on hold so much as it's delayed by other stuff in life. Soon I'll be back to it, re-optimizing my interior plan with MG after all he learned with the Optima/SEMA build.

Awesome. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

mk216v or mgmetalworks:

Could you convey some dimensions on the L-track positioning on the floor and MG's mount?

I have a 2010 E350 EB that I just acquired. Before getting into the full conversion I have a little detour here in November called the Baja 1000. So, I'm installing some L-track and a bench seat for carrying people, gear and a couple of motos but want to do the l-track once, or at least I'd like the ones I put down now to make sense for the MG mount and Sienna seats I want to install later.

Can you assist me with avoiding turning my van floor into Swiss cheese with some placement info? :)

Thanks!
Tim

Starting on the L-track on VANdiana. MG is at the helm!

Bedrug out;

Using the UJOR bracket as a jig. Will be lining up L-track in the "valley" of the floor ridges, on driver and pass side. RR seat will be inboard a bit from MG's RR seat in his EB. LR seat will be shoved as close to driver side interior plastic as possible(probably will offset UJOR's bracket holes to allow for this positioning);

100" lengths with 4" on center = a lot of holes for MG to drill. That's why he's the Drill Sergeant. :chef:

Hey Tim,

Would a picture w/ dimensions of the interior of my van help, showing where my L-track sits?
I'm not clear what you'd like to know about MG's mount. The 2 rear mounts are fastened to the Sienna seats, and that assembly fastens to the L-track with some L-track bolts.

Now that I know the MG mounts are 11" on center, I can see the logical place they go; the first valley next to the wheel well on each side. It isn't obvious until you know this measurement and take a look.

Thanks gents!

Sienna seat mount has an 11"x11" mounting bolt pattern.

They rest nicely down in that valley, so that the track is pretty level with the "flooring." Have fun with it!

If by 'fun' you mean crawling underneath a van where I cannot fit, sure!

One question: If you had to do it again, would you drop the fuel tank? I can get around the exhaust easily but the tank is another situation.

Thanks,
Tim

Better question for MG, but I don't think so. Now if the body is off the chassis for big maintenance, that'd be the time to do the L-track drilled for sure.

2nd set of RunCool hood louvers in! They should definitely help keep the engine cooler.
It's been pouring here but has started to dry up. I'll try to post a picture this weekend.

Looking forward to the new pictures. I am ready to order for my rig.

Will do tomorrow. Which ones have you been looking at?
If I were to do it over again I'd suggest doing both sets at the same time for optimal placement, but I'm overall very happy with how these 2 pairs turned out.

I am looking at the Wide Flow 32"x17". I was originally going with 11"x17",but I am not sure on either yet. Obviously, not for a van.
