The Nfab look similar to what I plan on making for myself, however they will attach to the frame. NOT THE BODY.

They are pretty but that's about it.[/QUOTE]

So the Nfab's attach to the pinch seam then? I was wondering because they don't specify on their website. Also, I have never seen a set in person and I can't find any good pictures of them attached!

Have you looked at how stout the body mounts are to the frame? If you spread the rocker protection along that length of body I don't see how anything short of a two foot drop onto rock could hurt it. The other thing is that the frame is far away and not inline with the bottom of the body. You will add 50 lbs of steel just getting from the rock rail to the frame. It will be on funky angles and the leverage from the sheer distance will twist the frame rails. Maybe a combination of body mount and frame mount would do but look how strong those body mounts are. I'm running cheesy aluminum running boards that came on my rig. I can't believe they lasted this long but I can hear them rubbing so I stop and find a better line before I destroy them. I guess anything is better than nothing. The coolest steps are on construction equipment. They are made from super thick winch like cable. Stiff enough not to flex when you step on them but flexible enough to move if you bash them.

The rear bulge is a kick out designed to "push" the rear away from a rock/log whatever. Currently they are attached to the pinch seam But I'm working on brackets as well to the frame. Front middle and back.

I probably don't need to tell you this, but I hope you plan on mounting them to either the body or the frame, but not both......
