No connection, yadda yadda... Just thought it might make someone a cool expo rig.

eBay link

Dang, can't copy pix off of eBay any more. I guess you'll have to follow the link.

As they say, "Oh man, if I had the money!"

Oh, and somebody please buy this and do a first class camper build on it. I wanna watch!

It sure is crying out for a camper build, isn't it? I love these Volvos.

Image: right-click on the ebay image, go to "properties", copy the URL then paste here as an image.

I used to do that, then I switched to Mozilla...

A lot of times I can right-click and copy the image location, but not on eBay.

From the ad- "Original Title Never Registered in USA"

Can this be registered in the US? Doesn't it have to be DOT certified?

Very cool vehicle though!

All I know is what I've read, but being a '75 it is well within the 25-year rule for imports. Should be possible.

There are several of these vehicles here in the US currently, but most are the 4 wheel version called the TGB11 (military) or C303 (civilian). I have a 1975 TGB11 registered in CA. More information can be found on the Volvo C303 Yahoo group or on Real4x4 forums.

Cheers,
Greg

How come they don't make cool rigs like this that seat 7 people?

They do... someone here will have pics of the tracked troop carriers Volvo makes (with driven trailer to bring 7 more). They are a blast. I have driven one down the roads of Whistler BC. Got some strange looks!:sombrero:

To see what can be done with one of the 6x6 Volvos to convert it to expedition use, you might want to check out www.trog.us for a detailed build.

Cheers,
Greg

Heehee

Well, because if you think this is cool you won't know 7 people...let alone be able to find 7 to ride around with you and be seen in public!!:xxrotflma:xxrotflma

except maybe for these 7 guys...
:jump:

Just kidding of course...this is a cool ride.

Actually they are made by Haaglunds - and better yet are amphibious...

Convert the driven 'trailer' to Alaskan style RV (fiberglass lower tub with step-over lower door half) and set up cab with aircraft style intercom system at seat positions (with radios and stereo tied in of course) and you're good to drive around the world on the Arctic Circle. Although you might want to tow an actual trailer full of fuel...just make sure it will float as well!
