That looks great !
So, the table is part of the platform - good.
Will the hinges be "felt" when the cushions are in place, do you think ?
(asking because that's what "the boss" would want to know ;) )

Cheers,
Frank

Good question about the hinges! For some reasons, I bought a set of 3/4 wide hinges... instead of 5/8... The 5/8 will be flush with the top of the bench. Even though I don't think the hinge would be high enough to be felt, but I was certainly concerned about $700 upholstery that could get damaged on them...
Will go down stairs now to exchange those hinges :)

Next task:
Curtains

Hi Andreas,

Ahhh, so it is those hinges. I see.

Yes, I would think the upholstery would be a concern ! $ ! $ ! $ :Wow1:

Curtains ? Good ! Waiting for the next exciting installment ;)

Cheers,
Frank

Upholstery is expensive... especially if made locally and not offshore in China!

Then I also didn't want to go through all that trouble and just put in some cheap foam that would be wrapped in crappy fabric...

At the end it will still be a fairly affordable conversion. Including the sunroof, awning and other little bits I still have to get done, it will be under $2000!

Agreed ! I hadn't taken into account that cost yet, for our application, but for that kind of expense, I sure would want to take good care of them; prefering quality whenever possible.

To be under $2k in expense to do all you have done is great ! ! ! :D

Found a great cargo net today! Also found a way to secure my mountain bike without having to construct anything that would be in the way.
It's coming along! :wings:

First time out!

Went very well. Although I'm still waiting for the upholstery I was very pleased how compfy it was to sit inside for hours! I also noticed that there was no need to buy those LED lights...The factory interior lights are plenty good enough!

Condensation: No issue! At night it was close to freezing and very damp. But despite that there was no noticeable fogging up of anything. Very pleased with that

Anyhow, there are also a couple of items I added lately:
GoWesty Wind visors and an aluminum profile to attach the awning.

Cheers,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
Congratulations ! ! !
It looks great and pleased to hear you did not have any condensation issues.
What did you end up doing for ventilation ?

Cheers,
Frank

great looking conversion

is your bike just strapped against the casework? driving like that can't be good for the cabinet or the derailleur.

Could bolt a fork mount to a board, make the board the width of the floor so it wouldn't slide around. That is what I have done for the back of my pickup so I wouldn't have to drill through the bed. Comes out when not in use.

Ventilation:
I left the front windows a couple of inches open. With the visors on the outside there was no risk of rain coming in. In the future, I hope to have a sunroof installed.

Bike storage:
I like the idea with the front wheel mount! Will see if I can find one in town.

Cheers
