Figured the easiest way to put this beast in both places I want it to be is just get a second cord and hardwire it. Anyone have a cord laying around?
It's a standard cord, (C7/C8 or Figure 8 is the plug name) many laptop power bricks use it but with a 110v plug. I got one of those and cut the end off. I just can't remember if it's polarized or not.

Something like one of the below. But you can get them all over the place.

IMHO RC car/Aircraft connectors are ideal for this application. I hate standard 12V DC auto connectors they rattle and have very high electrical resistance. Deans, Anderson power poles, or my new favorite the XT60. They are tough rated for 100s of amps and can be had cheap. hobbyking.com is a good place to get em cheap and they also have high quality silicone wire in a lot of different guages. Yes you do need to be able to solder but you can buy pig tails if that is intimidating.

I'd seen that as well - but I'm trying to make a panel almost like a wall outlet that I can plug into and unplug with one hand, and I don't want the 'paneled' side having connections dangling about.Someone posted in another thread... just a standard Alternator connector for the quick connect... that's what I used
