Spekaing of WARN not letting people down. I decided to custom mount their 10k behind the bumper in my 03 ram 1500 because there is no off the shelf solution for the larger winches only for the smaller sizes. I originally was going to base it off a mounting plate from superwinch because it was cheaper, but when i called them for dimensions they said they couldnt give me that information as they didnt want people just copying their design. Well scratch them off my list. Looked at the warn plate which cost more money, no dimensions listed online, call warn and speak to a tech who tells me the approx dimensions but asks me to hold for a minute so he can get the exact specs for me. I wait and in less than a minute i am given the exact dimensions to i think 3 decimal places even. Then he asks what i'm building with it and i explain the custom mount i am doing with the winch hanging upside down, the tech then explains to me how to properly clock the motor and clutch handle to get them in the right position. Service like this makes WARN the only brand for me. I own an 8k (on my jeep) the 10k is currently in my ram, although i just picked up a power wagon 12k which will move up front (with a redesigned mount) and the 10k will go into the back bumper.
So for anyone who has been on the fence about spending sometimes a little more money for the WARN products, do it as the products and the people will take care of you.
