This is my Suunto Elementum Terra. I changed out the silicone band for a NATO band.

I have not seen many of these around.

How do you like the Nato band?

Mine's shot too. Rolex replaced the hands a few years ago but I insisted that they leave the dial original. Your watch sounds like a 5512, a model coveted by Rolex enthusiasts!

My hands were replaced a while back and you can tell because they glow. i agree do not replace the dial. Just had mine repaired at the San Francisco factory repair center. They are one of a very few factory centers in the US. I think the non date models are definitely unique.

Here's my expo style watch. Batteries last several years, is dark unless you push a button, can show two different time zones, don't have to fiddle with date function every month, has timer, stopwatch and alarm functions. Cost about $40.00. Who cares if it gets lost, stolen or broken:

I returned the Maratac GPT. It was just too big for my wrist. I'll stick with my Sunnto Core for now.

I've got a Timex Expedition. Cost me $50 on sale, and it's pretty much bulletproof. If i do manage to destroy it (not unheard of, I'm really hard on gear), I can just get another one. Batteries last for about 10 years.

My only complaint is that the ticking on it is noticeably louder than most watches for some reason.

I have an older Timex Expedition and Ironman for really dirt stuff.

My day to day is a Suunto Core, and I have my grandpas old seiko for a dress watch.

I just saw one of these recently, they are new.

Momentum by St Moritz Steelix. Made in Canada, Japanese movement, simple, and I really like the design, under $100. 5 year battery life and waterproof to 200M. Just a simple field watch

I wear a cheapo timex expedition that I bought for $45. I bought it back in 2008 and its still kicking (been through two watch bands and one battery in that time).
