We did it!!

Part of the reason AT installs the 7-pin is to charge the trailer's battery. If you do not have a trailer battery go to an auto parts store and just buy an adapter. What about trailer brakes? That is another benefit of the 7-Pin.

Thanks for that info! I didn't get the trailer brakes option or battery option, so no worries there. So I can get an adapter now and when I need to in the future, rewire the rig.

Alvin

If you are not getting brakes or the 12 volt package we can wire the trailer for a 4 pin. Just let us know and we will make a note on the invoice.

There is an adapter for a 7 pin to 4 pin (all on the vehicle side) if you want to go ahead and wire your vehicle up that way. But there is not an adapter (as far as I know) for a 4 pin vehicle side to a 7 pin trailer side.

Well, as soon as my Horizon gets to Tucson I'll be loading it up and ready for a trip http://www.forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=182035.
I'll be running with the FJC Trail Teams on an expedition from Grand Junction CO to Moab. We'll be using the Kokopelli trails, 142 miles offroad. What a cool way to break in the new trailer and it looks like I'll be the only one on this expedition bringing one.:wings:
