Looks great!

Thanks Chris!

Van looks awesome! This will be a great adventure rig for sure.

If you want to an inexpensive way to have black wheels that can handle some rock rash, but removable when you want it to be you should check this out.

Get yourself a few cans of Plasti-Dip aerosol paint. It's a rubber coating that was designed for adding grip to handles on tools and such. Recently, many folks have been taking it to a new level and coating wheels, bumpers, trim, entire cars, gun stocks, etc. with it.

Go to YouTube and search for Plasti-Dip wheels, or just Plasti-Dip. You can get into some great ideas for your wheels on the cheap.

Thanks for the information. I have heard of it but never used it. I will have to look into it! Thanks!

Looks great!

How much did the axles set you back? Im looking for the same except a D70 from a srw cutaway rear tank for the rear.

Thanks! I paid $720 for the front Dana 60 and $600 for the rear. After I got the rear axle under the van, I found it had limited slip. Bonus!

That sounds pretty reasonable compared to single axles going for $3k. Especially if you got a limited slip.. Nice

Progress

Converted to newer style towing mirrors and finally got an Aluminess rear tire carrier. Also, confirmed October for the pop top install! :wings: Can't wait!

Love the progression. Coming along nicely. Based on your photoshop pictures I vote to keep the wheels aluminum color, gives it just that little bit of sparkle. Are you going to keep the interior simple' or are you going to make it basically "self contained"?

Sorry for the delayed response, gentlemen! Just got home from a trip to Mt. Rainer and the Tacoma area.

Thanks! I actually go back and forth on the wheel color. I do like the "factory 4x4" look too. As far as the interior, it will be a simple self contained, if that makes any sense. At this point, going to add a fresh water tank, small grey water, porta potti, propane system, and maybe a propane heater. We will see at the time I actually get around to building it though, as my plans change constantly haha!

Love it! It's threads like these that make my fiance nervous....

Ha! It's threads like this that got me where I am! Be careful, it can strike in full force at any time, lol!

Send me some pics for the website! Thanks!

You got it, Chris! On their way shortly!

Pop Top Done

My wife and I just got back from picking up the van at CCV. We are thrilled with how it turned out! Derek and his family were directly affected by the nasty floods in Colorado a few months ago. A big shout out to Derek and Zane at CCV for getting our van done, despite having to move shop and all!

Took the opportunity to spend a day in Moab. Have been going every year at least once for the last 16 years, but never once in the winter. It is beautiful!

We ended up driving up a road into the hills in the Spanish Fork Canyon area to stay a night. It got down to a frigid 10 degrees! Gave our Mr. Heater Portable Buddy a good work out!
