Brought the "new" LJ and the "new" trailer to Vermont for our first 4 wheel trip this year. It rained most of the time but we had a good time. We did some easy trails (no class 4 ) I didn't want to get trapped on a class 4 with no way of turning around ( like last year , having to back down a steep, rocky, shelf road for half mile ) Both Jeep and trailer performed very well and next time, with some friends, we will try some class 4 trails .

Hey Ken, I know you just got the rack, what made you decide on the AEV rack? And how do you like it, and are going to get the rails for it or leave it flat?
Thanks for the time , in your answers, good looking rig!

Bought a fire extinguisher....something I've been meaning to do...one of my injectors started leaking from a broken o ring while I was going down the highway...started to smell strong gas...stopped at Wal-Mart, saw it, and went and bought one while I was there, lol. Fixed it and went on...now I just have to mount it...

Was going back and forth between the AEV and the Gobi, you know, do I or don't I, drill the roof? Cost was factor AEV was cheaper, and I could still use all the Rhino Rack accessories. After thinking I will not be taking off the roof I went with AEV. Of course as soon as I did someone posted the Gazell from France and I thought wow!

Upgraded my limb riser setup. Got rid of the turnbuckles in favor of the same tensioners used by Safety Devices when they equipped the Camel Trophy Defenders and Discos. They are called Shroud Levers and are used in sailboat rigging and make the whole process of mounting and dismounting the risers much easier. Plus, the tension is consistent and there is adjustability built in to the design.

Oh, and I added lights to the ARB rack.
