What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

...I installed a synergy track bar brace (frame side) with a sector shaft brace, and synergy track bar. HUGE improvement. The synergy track bar mount brace will fix wallowed out holes, and their track bar is much more solid.

Hi Brian. Am I reading correctly that you have the AEV 3.5 lift, with high steer, and have also installed the Synergy sector shaft brace/track bar brace combo, and the Synergy track bar? Have you fully flexed it out with the passenger side at the bump stops and verified there is clearance between the sector shaft brace and the track bar?

I'm considering the same combo outline above, but it looks awful tight and before I pay all the shipping to and from I want to verify it will work.

And, to keep in the spirit of this thread, yesterday I installed my AEV rear bumper. I've had the tire carrier for a while, and finally got the bumper to go with it. Had to drill it to mount my rear facing camera. A nice unplanned benefit with this setup is that I can remove my trailer hitch with only four easily accessible bolts before heading off road.

Does it pull to the left now? I keep thinking about getting rid of the OME stabilizer but its strictly because of aesthetics so I'll probably never so it... Lol. Maybe ill cover it in black vinyl or something, tired of seeing the big yellow damper under there.

Yes you're reading that right. I'm not sure I fully flexed the front since the synergy parts install (for the purpose of checking clearance), but I'd be surprised if it didn't fully compress when I went out a few weeks ago and wheeled with the sway bar disconnected. No marks on the track bar or sector shaft brace/bolt. Synergy said if the track bar bracket raises close to the same amount as the spring, and the bump stops are close to the same, there should be no clearance issue. Makes sense to me, bump stops seem to be at least as tall as the raise on the track bar bracket. Ill have to look for a place close to home to fully compress the right side and check it our for you, but I don't get home for another week and a half. Worst case, you might have to add a small bump stop spacer or replace the 3.5" with the 4.5" bump stop on the right, but I really don't think it will be an issue.

Also, you can order the track bar bracket itself, just make sure it's compatible with the sector shaft brace which can be added later if desired. You may have to remove the track bar to reinstall the sector shaft brace but its no big deal.

I might be a little concerned about the other recently replaced components if you've bad several episodes of death wobble since, but I guess you'll have to see what happens. You've checked the hub/bearing units too, right?

I painted my OME...its only a month old but one offroad trip and the paint is coming off. I had a drift to the right due to the MT/R's (confirmed by swapping on OEM takeoffs) and the Bilstein basically balanced that out. It tracks better now. Dave at AEV posted that he asked Bilstein to revise the damper due to the issue so I'd think that new production stuff might not have the same issue as before. I bought mine from Quadratec.

Thanks for your reply. Your experience, along with a few others I've read about online, is enough for me to place the order.

FWIW, I don't have any DW issues at all. I've been doing this off road thing for 20+ years now. I'm replacing parts before they become a problem by learning from the trials of others.

I didn't wait until I had death wobble either. I too prefer to upgrade before it becomes a problem, though after I dug around more I am surprised I didn't have it. I did get a couple of oscillations hitting potholes while turning but never a full on death wobble. Now I've got the front axle sleeved, trussed, gusseted, synergy balljoints, tie rod, track bar, track bar and sector shaft brace, welded AEV front track bar relocation bracket etc. I do want to replace the flimsy drag link that AEV included but I haven't got around to verifying the size of the holes required in the knuckle between the two. I'm not sure if I can leave it, if I need to drill it out larger or need another knuckle. Oh well it hasn't caused an issue, but after feeling so much improvement with the other synergy components as I've upgraded, I have to imagine it will help a little. I feel like my rear track bar is soft and sloppy now, after getting the front tightened up.

I forgot to add, if you're ordering any of the track bar or brace etc, make sure you're getting the right part numbers that are compatible with the sector shaft brace in case you want to add it. I ordered from poly performance and they gave a discount for (I think it was) jeepforum members. It was enough discount to ship everything next day for no extra charge.

Wash'd it, clay'd it, wax'd it. Threw on some steps till I pony up for the Billy Rockers. Put another inch of spacers on it. Then went down to the water with the fam and cooked up some brats and kraut.

Thx for all the positive input in regards to DW. Tomorrow I will have alignment done and if that doesn't fix it my next move will be a drop ppitman arm and then see what happens.

Two shops and $300 later the death wobble is gone. It turns out I had a tie rod clam missing allowing the alignment to be everywhere on tbe map. The sad part is tje first shop just aligned it and sent me on my way. Thirty miniyes later death wobble retuned, so I went to the last place I expected to fix it right, the Goodyear shop! Oh well at least they caught it and it rides better than the day I bought it.
