What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Tranny cooler install.jpg
I started putting a big Earls cooler in the tranny lines. It'll be buttoned up today. Between towing out teardrop to camp sites and slow woods roads rambling we like to do the XJ gets pretty heated up. I'm really interested to see if this mod does anything to the coolant temps by taking the hot trans fluid out of the stock radiator.

Got the cooler all buttoned up. No leaks, and it took a whole quart of fluid added to make up for the volume of the cooler. The Earls stuff is top quality if anybody is thinking about this type of mod. Safari rack.jpg
I also finalized mounting my homemade safari rack. It's huge, but it needs to carry two kayaks, two EZ-UP's, and our big duffle of paddling gear. XJ's are pretty limited in cargo capacity in comparison to my old Explorer or Silverado. I also started on a rear cargo organizer. Got the plywood floor cut and in place and started measuring and sketching more details on it. I got lot's of ideas from that thread in the Storage section of the forum.

Finished the body work along the drivers side touched it up with duplicolor Perfect match spraybombs. At this rate by the time I get all my tranny parts in Ill have it ready for paint lol. Now to let it cure out so I can color sand and hit it with the buffer trying to keep it looking decent untill I can swing the Paint job.

Ordered some 9W Cree LED stop/tail bulbs, mini-projector fog lamps and a trans temp gauge.
Fitting the stop/tails tonight so I can get my rear fogs back again.

Started on the budget snorkel I have had enuff trying to clean air filters while traveling dusty back roads.I dont so much care about fording five feet of water just getting clean cool air to the engine. I'm up to breaking out the hole saw and rerouting the air box.

New Front Bumper.

New front bumper, Rugged Ridge All Terrain with stubby end caps. All in all a very well made & stout bumper that fits flush to the grill and weighs less than stock.
