What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

pretended like it flooded to get out of work :D

well, normally i would jump to go to work but today was RIDICULOUS! i was informed i needed to drive to my bosses house which isnt exactly close, pick up his work truck and trailer and head across the valley to pick up a co worker then head to the location, got to the guys house...wont answer the door or phone, finally get ahold of him after calling around trying to figure out whats going on for 30 minutes, princess is taking a nap cause he is tired...and he has to go do another location before we can head to the one we need to do (which he should have been doing instead of napping) so i had to drive the company truck back to his house then go back home to wait for him to finish the work, otherwise i would have to wait 4 hours for him to get done, so i drove home and decided to work on the jeep while i wait, halfway into tearing it apart he calls (2 hours ahead of schedual) to tell me hes done and to come pick him up, so i told him the jeep wont start, has to spark, determined that the exhaust leak is causing the ecu to read it is running lean so it dumped to much fuel and it was running rich, when i tried to start the plugs were soaked with gas and it flooded (which is partially true, it does run rich because of said issue, just not to that extent...)
working with those guys is worse than working with a bunch of pubescent teenage drama queens in their freshman year...

taking a nap then starting to bedline the plastic interior panels, tomorrow headed to the air force recruiter to fill out paperwork..
i know it sounds bad to complain about him taking a nap and now im about to but i was up earlier than him and i only got 2 hours of sleep due to finals...i have a legitimate excuse ;)

conducted my yearly wash, touch-up paint, and polish. Anyone have any flat kaki paint, it would just be a lot easier to repaint every year or two, instead of all this detail work.. vodka tonics anyone?

Replaced the battery (got four years out of it).

Replaced my second exhaust manifold in the last six months. Keeps cracking on the driver's side between the first (very front) and second.

Finished installing the trans cooler I bought about 4.75 years ago. All that remained of the project I started a few months ago was connecting the fluid line from it to teh stock cooler and fluid lines that run back to the trans.

Fluid comes IN on the passenger side of the stock cooler, so I left those lines intact and connected the new cooler inline with the "return" line to the trans.

Installed Bestop 2 piece soft doors.......well sort of. I had read about bad fitment with these doors but with the weird weather extremes we get here in northern NV I wanted to be able to throw a door on or off in a matter of moments, and I'm married to a highly skilled retired mechanic that can make anything fit :)

My husbands new job has him out of town for half of each month, and when he is home he has a ton of stuff to do in a little amount of time. So I took it upon myself to start what appears to be a simple install. The front doors took about 15 mins each to install the the handles and adjust the doors to line up with the factory latch pin. No problem!! :)

Well, the rear doors appear to be where the fitment issues are. After installing the handles and adjusting the lower pin adjustment, each rear door is still 1" lower than the factory latch pin :( Hoping we can dremel the lower pin adjustment to allow for more adjustment but waiting for my expert to come home tomorrow and give his opinion.

i bedlined my interior, the plastic stuff, center console etc. the ash trays and gear select bezels i did in satin black with krylon. unfortunately, again like an idiot i didnt wait for anything to cure and i threw it in the jeep and chipped it up a bit. not bad though, i need to take it all out to clean the carpets anyways, i hope the bedliner i chose sticks to plastic well, i know it looks absolutely fantastic!

small teaser, i need better pix, half the ones i took ended up blurry >.<

Took off the Trail Rated Badge.....

Why? i want one but am to cheap to spend 30 bucks for an emblem...
i think they look good on cherokee's :) they are more "trail rated" than some of these new jeeps IMO

shampoo'ing my carpets with a water/simple green mixture. good thing its only 104 out, hot enough they should dry fast, but not hot enough that im going to shrivel up like over cooked bacon :D

Why? Because I can. Making it mine. I took off every decal and badge, other than *JEEP* on the front. I know what it is, and that's all that matters... I added Eugene on the tailgate (Popeye's pet jeep), a Willys (or Army) Star on both front sides where the Sport/Wrangler/Unlimited decals were, and a 70th Anniversary badge where the trail rated badge was.

Simple Green is pretty good stuff!

pics? sorry didnt mean to seem like i was questioning cause it was a stupid idea. just curious.

finished cleaning it up. bedlined it all, simple green and turtle wax interior carpet cleaner with oxy clean... the carpet cleaning machine took a cr@p on me half way through so i just soaked them up with seafoam and then used a dry/wet vac on it. found only one rust spot, doesnt look to bad, ill sand it all off and recoat it with some paint in the future. for now im beat! didnt get any finished pix cause it was dark, ill get them in the morning. here are some progress pix. the change was oddly enough all found sitting how it is in the pic lol.
