I arrive Wednesday morning and return home next Sunday. I'll be there for work but Thursday is the only day that is fully booked with work stuff. So I do have a few days to look around a bit. My wife is travelling with me and we didn't have much time to make plans so we'll be making it up as we go.

You there now? You should have told me, I've spent a fair of time in both areas and have had some fun times nearby. Did you ever meet Troy when he was staying here with Micah and I after his internship at Overland Journal? He is local to Brisbane and could offer you some great ideas too!

I didn't have much notice before leaving, and I'm back now. Had a great time! Such a cool place and I gotta say I loved seeing so many cruisers and other 4WDs with snorkels running around. Seriously like every 3-4th vehicle was a SUV or Ute with a snorkel. I wish I'd had more time but once I was done with my work, I just had a couple days and didn't have time to arrange for anything too crazy so it was mainly just site seeing around GoldCoast and time on the beach.

Spent some time yesterday investigating a strange noise coming from the drivers side rear wheel. Turns out part of the E brake came apart and there was a bit of a mess in there. Also discovered that the rear calipers had ZERO lubrication in them. (unless you count rust dust as lube) so I gave them some love and lube until I order replacements or a rebuild kit. Also installed an inner fender well liner on the drivers side. When I removed what was left of the old one, there was enough dirt and rocks lodged behind it to fill a cereal bowl. It was densely packed an wet to boot. I had to break it up with a screwdriver. When I did I found insects living in my mobile ecosystem. I found a drain hole at the bowels of my excavation that was blocked by the vehicle wrap on the lower section of the body. I fixed that too.
