What Size Tire to Buy?

Hmmm, the ones that fit and serve their purpose would be the obvious solution....
Should look great and perform great. But be aware of an exhaust cross over/front drive shaft issue that impacts lifts - I think it is a problem for all lifts +2.5" but I'm not sure.

With 12.5 wide tires you need either wheels with about 4.7" of back spacing or 1.25" adapters, like those offerred by SpiderTax.

I know about the spaces needed for the 12.50 that what I had on my 2007.
I know about the cross over and called AEV on it. The said There was know problems with there 2" and the cross over pipe.
I'm starting to think about going with 355/80 17 now thought just so I don't have to mess with gears.

Are you just wanting or actually needing 35's? Anything 33's wont accomplish? Keep in mind that the 2012's made it more difficult to re-gear the axles.
It's no more difficult to re-gear a 2012 than a 2011, the issue is with recalibrating the computer, and that is solved with the recent up grade of the ProCal.
The only problem with 255/80R17's - aka 33x10's - is that they are available only in load range E, at least as far as I know. Your JKU doesn't need or want load range E tires, D's are more than sufficient. But a set of KM2's would be a great tires, if a bit stiff...
I would still run the spacers. My wife's JKUR has the original oem M/T's and I put a set of specers on her Jeep to get the tires out from under the fenders. Looks much better with the tire sidewalks out to the width of the fenders.

All you need to re gear the jeep and a Procal for a 2012 I have already ordered that. I am thinking about 255/80's too, But I have had 35 on my last 4 jeeps and would like to keep up the trend. I don't really do any rock crawling at all anymore since I sold my TJ this This would be a true adventure jeep and just need to get my to different remote climbing locations. So yes 33 would be just fine. that why I'm trying to see what they look like with that set up. I know it will fit I just want to get an Idea of what a 4 door would look like with 33 and 35's

I think I might end up going down the road of the AEV 231 Package that has the 2" lift and 33s this go round just so i don't have to re-gear. I loved my old 07 door do on 35 with 4.10, but the gears were stock tow package gears in 07 and worked for me. I don't know about the auto and 35 with 3.73's. In the End that why I want to see some images of both to help make up my mind.

If auto then the changed gearing in the 2012's auto will provide similar gearing to a pre-2012 auto with 4.56's.
Here's a chart for autos:
2011 and previous:
4.10 X 0.69 = 2.829
4.88 X 0.69 = 3.367
5.13 X 0.69 = 3.540
5.38 X 0.69 = 3.712
2012's:
4.10 X 0.83 = 3.403
4.56 X 0.83 = 3.785
4.88 X 0.83 = 4.050
5.13 X 0.83 = 4.258
5.38 X 0.83 = 4.465
I'll add 2012 auto and 3.73's:
3.73 X 0.83 = 3.10
And 2011 auto and 4.56's:
4.56 X 0.69 = 3.14

A few weeks ago we put 285x75x17's KM2's on our 2012 JKUR. They are 33.9" tall. We have an auto with 4:10's. You can tell a little difference on the highway but not much. This past weekend we headed east on I40 and the same hill's we pulled 2 weekends before with stock tires we pulled at the same speed only it down shifted twice. I don't see any reason to regear at this point. It still has substantially more power and get up and go than our 08 with 35's and 4.88's.
