What type of LSD did Gen2's have?

I believe the Gen 2 models only had a rear air locker available. Others here should have more information.

The LSD oil additive is a requirement to increase slip on the clutches during normal driving so that it does not create a chatter effect. Without the slip from the oil additive, the clutches would attempt to grab more aggressively while turning.

The Hybrid differentials of later models had a small clutch system, but were predominately a helical gear design. The clutch pack only began to engage from increased heat during free wheel spin.

If it's the same LSD that was available on Gen 1's (which seems likely) then it's a pretty standard clutch type LSD with preload and that's backed up by the sticker suggesting not to force the wheels when the truck is on stands and the sticker calling for LSD-specific lubricant.

The hybrid, helical LSD on Sports did not require clutch friendly oil and I don't believe it appeared anywhere until 1997

^^This exactly^^, I just bought another hybrid diff this week.
