"The
very best thing you can do to improve the aerodynamics of any
existing truck/camper combo is to add a CAB-TO-CAMPER PAD. This is an inflatable pad that fills this gap between the cab and cab over. Closing this gap make the wind divert to either side
of the camper instead of getting trapped and causing the dam.
The cab to camper pad can sometimes help other things like
"bed bounce." I very much recommend getting the 3M clear bra
added to your vehicle's roof before adding the pad, in order to
protect the paint"

Where would I get such at pad ? I too am very interested in truck camper aerodynamics. Thanks

I desperately need a source for one of the inflatable pads. I have a very tight clearance between the truck roof/camper, I need it as more of a cushion between the two than for aero purposes. Bike inner tubes are my short term solution. Every RV shop I've checked has told me the inflatable pads aren't made any more.

I used to have one that was a donut of foam rubber wrapped in naugahyde. It didn't inflate, but stayed in place just fine.

Ok everyone, we sell the "Cab to Camper Pad" right here at Phoenix Pop up. It inflates with a regular tire inflation knozle at the gas station or your compressor.

Here is a video of how it looks on the road.... The Camper to Camper Pad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhShZ-rbvlA

$149 + S and H. Just give us a call with your credit card and we'll send one out to you.

ADVENTURE AMERICAS hits the road in their new Phoenix P.U.L.S.E. pop up!!

We have been "readying" a nice little PULSE for our friends Jed and Meg "ADVENTURE AMERICAS." These two are heading off for the adventure of a lifetime, driving and enjoying themselves on a year long + trip, from their home up in Wyoming, to drive along the Pan-American highway to explore the countries of North, Central and South America!

We are absolutely HONORED that Jed and Meg chose a Phoenix Pop up as their home away from home on this adventure.

Although we started out with a "run of the mill" PULSE mini, we spent some time adding a few special features to fit their specific needs. The only feature we added to make the rig "tougher" for the jungle areas, with very bad roads is a double eye bolt/ratchet strap tie down system, so that we get stronger downward connection, and fore to aft securety.

Finally, the day has come, and the adventure begins!

There is lots of great info in their rig, and their entire adventure prep and plan at their web site...

Please do visit their site and join in the adventure to follow thier blogs along the way!

We definitively need to talk at Expo....I would not mind one of these campers in the back of a Tacoma as our next overland vehicle...

Since we are talking about weight - do you know how much this (Jed & Meg) one ended up weighting?

Hey, nice to hear from you!

I think that Jed and Meg's camper, with all of it's great features probably weighs about 1,000 lbs. They wanted the full height with the full under bed storage, lots of room, storage, and the full set of living comforts.

See you at the expo!

As usual, you have some pretty cool stuff rolling out of the shop Rob! That army truck is way cool. Man, I love that sink stove combo in the Tacoma. Makes me wish mine had that. See you in a few weeks at the Expo!
