This was my 08 S. Loved that car, but was it turned out to be a huge money pit. (Catalytic issues, water damage from blocked plugs and Gremlins) I got lucky, traded it in for another car for my wife and got 17k for it (friend was manager). I found out that the dealership spent 10k attempting to get it right, the Porsche dealership bought it from the Ford dealership and spent thousands attempting to get it straightened out, then it ended up at auction that a friend works for. Someone bought it for 10k and returned it 2 days later.
Anyway I ran 22" Cooper Zeon LTZ and was really impressed with on and off road manners. On road you could not get the car to drift to save your life and I hammered it on fire roads without any issues.
I miss that thing and would prob buy another one if I could swallow the self doubt from my previous experience, It's just that good.

I do fabrication on the side so this was a project that was brought to me. Car didnt come with a spare tire. Owner does mild offroading and tows a racecar trailer so he needed a place to have a spare. Before it was on the roof.
I designed this to fit under the factory bumper. I wanted to integrate it as clean as possible and keep it tucked close to the body. It was quite a challenge to work within the constraints of the factory bumper but I made it work. Check it out.
2004 Cayenne Turbo.
Made a plate to fit to a flat surface under the tail light.
Mocked up the spindle.
Alot of careful measuring and trimming on the factory bumper
The swingout arm contours with the edge of the bumper.
Added the latch and the carrier. Also added a second mount connecting spindle to the hitch.
Final result. Unit is very sturdy with essentially zero play.

I figured out how to get some auxiliary lighting on the front of my 2013 Cayenne.
Texas requires a front license plate. I found this tow hook licence plate mount kit from US Mills Works. Then looking around E-Bay I found license plate light mounts.
I ordered a second licence plate mount and two light mounts . A 42 " LED light bar finished the instillation. I did not want to try to run wires into the vehicle cabin so I used a wireless remote control. Not the prettiest setup but it works.

This thread (along with a great deal of research, and countless test drives of basically everything out there) convinced me to go for it. Just picked her up yesterday: 32k miles and bone stock, ready for a very moderate build. As has been said so often, there just doesn't seem to be a reason to do much to the Cayenne save for some safety and convenience additions. Traded in a new Jeep Wrangler for her, and while I'll always love Jeeps (I've had 20+ over the years), the Cayenne just seems to be a great fit for long distance road trips with light to moderate forest road type trails. I'm over the rock crawling and driving a Jeep on 40's to make it through the rock gardens.
